Hospitality Industry Overview:

The Hospitality, Hotel Management and Catering industry is one of the fastest growing industries in India. As per the report of Cumulative Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) it is second to IT sector.

To enroll for the Hotel Management course, the minimum qualification required is 12th board exams pass in any stream. Candidates should have studied English as one of their subjects. Candidates awaiting their HSC result can also apply for the hotel management entrance exam.

The maximum age limit for the unreserved category candidate is 22 years and that of the SC/ST category students is 25 years.

Hotel Management Entrance Exam Details:

The Common entrance exam for hotel management conducted by National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) will be held tentatively on 27.04.2019 from 10.00 am to 1.00 p.m.

The significance of this exam has to be kept in mind. Candidate should be well informed about the paper pattern, syllabus and exam date. A focused plan is required to get through with excellent marks. A time table in place is required to get maximum result in a short period of time.

Candidate should divide schedule in several steps and complete them one by one. A small step can help them to achieve a lot.

Ladders in preparing for the Exam

According to the above mentioned units and exam topics candidates are recommended to plan their study time accordingly.  Careful attention and sufficient time must be given to each subject. Dividing the syllabus into small fragments will give candidates a chance to get themselves familiar with different topics.  Over exertion on any topic or subject is a strict no. If they do, they will find it hard to cope with other subjects and topics. It will adversely affect their concentration as well.

Choosing a place conducive for study is also very important; it should be free of all disturbance and hindrance. While studying or preparing for the entrance test, candidate’s attention and concentration should not divert to other things. Group study if done can be of great help. It gives a chance of brain storming and clearing doubts.

How to Apply for the NCHMCT exam?

Joint entrance examination is conducted by NCHM for admissions to 8124 seats of bachelor programmes at 55 participating institutes and colleges. Out of these there are 21 centrally funded institutes, 19 state government-funded colleges and 15 private institutions participating in the joint entrance exam.

The application for NCHMCT exam starts from January 15, 2019. The last date for filling the online application will be March 15, 2019. Admit card can be downloaded from April 03, 2019 onwards. No dispatch of the admit card will be made; it will be available only through an online medium. The result of the exam will be published by May 15, 2019. Seat allotment and counselling procedure will be held from 22nd May to 5 July 2019 (tentatively).
