    • CEDP Skill Institute says:

Before jumping to any decision to select hotel management as a career option, it is always advised to analyse pros and cons, growth prospects, matching of work-profile with personality traits, etc. If the candidate is not willing to work in various profiles he may not be suitable for it as in hotel management an employee may be asked to work in management, food and beverage service, housekeeping, front office operation, sales and marketing, accounting or any other department

  65. Puja says:

    Hello ,

My brother has done hotel management from IHM Kolkata and he was placed in Leela Delhi then within 6 months he got an opportunity and joined Jw Marriott Bangalore ..he was in FNB and was doing well..but then he wanted to pursue MBA in marketing and so left job in mid way he thought of opening his cafe. He opened his own cafe but he is not satisfied ..he wanted to try out his options..now he is confused of what should he continue with..as you know it takes time in an hotel industry to get settled salary wise .since I am not from this field I have no idea so can you please suggest what should he do.

    • CEDP Skill Institute says:

Firstly he need to come to a conclusion what exactly he wants to do as here we could see lot of mind change & unstable decision been taken.
You can make your brother understand the importance of taking such decision which will result into incomplete journey.
Pursuing MBA is always good decision so ask him to continue with that whether its distance or regular.
Opening an café may be a good decision but to get business out of is a task & it requires lot of hard work & positive approach, his continues dedication. This also required marketing, quality of product need to be maintain so that people should like the quality that would be offered.

    • CEDP Skill Institute says:

Both, degree and diploma are types of recognition conferred on a person on the successful completion of an educational course. However, there are a lot of differences between the two and they aren’t interchangeable. The duration of a degree course is usually 3 to 4 years and the emphasis is on academics. For example, B.Com (H) is a 3-year degree course that teaches students subjects like accountancy, economics, and business studies; B.Tech is a 4-year degree course that teaches subjects like physics, chemistry and math, and includes the subject one plans to major in, an MBBS is a 5 and 1/2-year long degree that teaches the general aspects of medicine.

A diploma course is a short term course (usually 1 to 2 years in duration) that focuses on training a person in a particular field. A lot of diploma courses have on-the-job training and apprenticeship, and focus more on practical exams. For example, a diploma in computer science involves subjects centered on programming languages and computer hardware only.
